Thanks to exhibitors for an excellent entry and my very efficient stewards. Several quality hounds and promising youngsters, but still a lot of erratic movement, particularly very close hind movement and slack pasterns.
PD(5, 2) 1 Peach’s Kilbourne Hamlet. Well balanced 8 month old with pleasing head and expression, strong neck, well constructed fore and aft, good bend of stifle, very collected on the move for his age. BP. 2 Blackford &Morrissey’s Glenmorlich Catch The Wind. 6 month baby on first outing, very promising, good head and expression, dark eye, shapely body, correct bone, not as steady on the move as one due to enjoying himself rather than any defect. 3 Llewellyn’s Matahari Menjangen.
JD(2) 1 Wilson’s Hamiltonhill Fred D. Mercury. Dark, harsh coat, good overall shape with deep chest and good spring of rib, correct topline, kept on the move, sound front and rear. 2 Adams’ Ardneish Lohengrin. Good head and expression, small well placed ears, strong neck and body, touch upright in front, powerful hindquarters with good bend of stifle, not as sound as one on the move.
PGD (7) 1 Barret’s Stranwith Symphony. Stands over a lot of ground, well constructed front and rear with deep chest, strong quarters, good bend of stifle, well muscled, moved freely with drive. 2 Hawkins’ Kwaricott Asclepius. Lighter build but shapely with good depth and proper tuck up, strong quarters, tight well knuckled feet, sound mover but not with drive of first. 3 Francis &Blatchford’s Cloweswood Acer Of Peopleton.
LD(9, 3) 1 Barret’s Stranwith Ebenezer. Typical head and expression, strong neck, well set on, great depth and powerful hindquarters with low hocks and tight feet, presented in good hard condition, sound free movement. CC and BOB. 2 Gilhooly &Morrissey’s Lord Seafield Of Hartvalley. Tall dog, shapely and well balanced, typical head and expression, good eye, ears on large side, good reach of neck, deep body, strong hindquarters with low hocks, not as steady on move as first. 3 Peach’s Kilbourne Firechief.
OD(6, 1) 1 Phillips &Peach’s Wild West Von Der Oelmuehle. Lovely head and expression with dark eye, correct front, strong neck and good topline, powerful quarters with good bend of stifle and low hocks, sound free movement. RCC. 2 Rhodes &Morton’s Ch Gentom Peacemaker. Tall dog but well proportioned and most of comments for first apply. A worthy champion but not giving of his best today. 3 Day’s Demerlay Dorian Grey At Celticmoon.
PB(9, 2) 1 Mansell &Duddell’s Killoeter Pieris At Canerikie. Very promising youngster, lovely feminine head, well constructed front and rear, deep chest, harsh coat, sound and confident on the move, just missed out for BP when not so happy with new handler. 2 Nichols &Collins’ Birkhall Hot Scotch. Another nice puppy, heavier build than one, good front and rear with low set hocks, topline a bit flat on the move and not quite as sound as one. 3 Latimer’s Kilbourne Hendra.
JB(2) 1 Trotman’s Stainlonan Kulang Of Penherald. Shapely with typical head and expression, good reach of neck and front construction, low set hocks, harsh coat, tended to flatten on the move and rather slack hind movement but just at the awkward teenage stage. 2 Aston’s Gwennol Hardd Of Balgaled. Nice head, eye and well set ears, shapely but rather fine boned and light in body, good harsh coat, sound fore and aft.
PGB(20, 4) 1 Bailey’s Kilbourne Jenifer Jupiter To Greyflax. Lovely bitch with typical head and expression, good construction front and rear, strong neck, powerful hindquarters with low set hocks, tight feet, sound free mover. 2 Peach’s Kilbourne Teine. Slightly smaller dark coated bitch but same comments apply, strode out well, very close decision in a very strong class. 3 Hird’s Clowswood Scilla.
LB(11, 5) 1 Finnett &Heathcote’s Hyndsight A Box Of Dreams. Eyecatching dark bitch, pleasing head and expression, strong neck, well constructed front and rear, deep body, powerful hindquarters, well let down hocks, good muscular condition, looks as though she could do a days work. CC, her third. 2 Mansell &Duddell’s Canerikie Coco Chanel. Another nice bitch who looks like she could do what she was bred for, feminine head, well made all round, presented in good hard condition, didn’t move with quite the drive of one. 3 Westall-Ives Stranwith May.
OB(7, 1) 1 Gomm’s Canerikie Cookie Crusher To Wildtor. Lovely typy bitch with pleasing head, dark eye, good front, deep body and powerful hindquarters, correct bend of stifle, tight well knuckled feet, sound free mover. RCC. 2 Bailey’s Ch Greyflax Waterloo Sunset. Much has been written about this bitch who is well worthy of her title but she was not at her best today. 3 Peach’s Pinglehol Ruby To Kilbourne.
